summer fun

Even in the heat and with constant kicking in the ribs, this is still been a pretty good summer so far. Here are a few things I've taken pics of in the last week that I think are adorable!

Backyard pool, just as the sun was going down.

Cutting play-dough with cousin Bethany.

We got her a bike helmet to go with her trike, since every time she sat on it she said "helmet, head", and patted her head. It's a little big, but it should get some good use in the next few years. When we got it she wanted to wear it everywhere for a few days.

Me and Elizabeth with our pregnant tummies again. I'm 29 weeks, she's 31 I think.

French braids for church! This is the after nursery look.

After the braids came out.

Her new favorite book about the "mouse house". Thank you Great grandma Radcliff! As she says, "Evelyn love it!"

Birthday Girl!

Happy Birthday to our little Evelyn! Her birthday was Saturday. I can hardly believe it's been 2 years since she came into the world, and she had quite an entrance. We're all glad Ryan wasn't at Scout camp this year.  She's as busy and happy as any 2 year old can be. She loves singing, dancing, sliding, swinging, coloring and wearing socks on her hands as"goves".  She loves to "watch Poppins" or "Um diddle ey", (Mary Poppins) and "Monkey George" (Curious George) any chance she gets. She knows almost all the letters, colors, shapes and loves trying to count things. She sings "rock a baby in the tree trop" to her dolls, and "Jesus want Evelyn a sunbeam." She says says "eeew" whenever she hears "The Itsty Bitsy Spider" or sees anything on the floor that looks like it could be a bug. She loves to help Mommy mix anything I'll let her help with while cooking. She loves to give kisses to baby brother in my tummy and says "wake up baby" in the morning. She is our little sunshine and we are so blessed to call her ours.
We braved the heat and spent the morning at the zoo. Since January she's been saying, "Daddy come zoo", so we finally were able to make it as a family.
Someone had just stopped smiling, but here we all are!

Her favorite animals were by far the giraffes.

Merry Go Round! It's kind of tricky to get a good picture on one of these

.

Ryan is such a fabulous Dad. I just love him.

Brushing the goats.

Happy Birthday to you at the Quist's!

Happy Birthday at the Stewart's!

Crusin' with cousin Koltyn.

Two cakes, a slide and a trike = a very happy 2 year old. Thanks to Grandma's and Grandpa's and all the rest of our fabulous family for everything!

Mother's Day, Memorial Day and a bit of Everyday

May and June have been full of fun family things. On Mother's day Ryan made a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast and  gave me a great new crock pot cookbook. We enjoyed going out to a movie the night before too, which hasn't happened for a while. I also got a nap after church and a beautiful drawing of a flower from my little sweetheart. She and my big sweet heart made my day a very special one. Father's Day was a similar for Ryan. I'm so grateful for all he does. Memorial Day was spent traditionally as we went with my family to the City of Mesa Cemetery to remember our loved ones and those who served our country so bravely.
On June 1st my brother in law Karl was married to a great gal, JaNel Grim. They are great together and we're so happy for them, and to have an awesome new sister in law! Ryan has been pretty busy helping his dad with remodeling the kitchen of the town house in Tempe where we lived as newly weds for over 2 years. Karl and JaNel now call it their home, and they'll have a nice, new kitchen to boot. I've finished 3 sewing projects that were left sitting for while in the last month. Hooray! I hope to get 4 more done in the next moth and post some pictures then. Meanwhile, here are some pictures to browse...
Grandpa Quist with his grandkids. He's a wonderful Dad. A very patriotic  patriarch.

A rocker just her size out side of cracker barrel.

Thanks for the cozy coupe Johnson family! She wouldn't play with anything else for days.

Cup 'o crayons anyone?

The entertainment console is coming together!

Stacking blocks in the garage while Daddy works on his project.

I let her pick out all her clothes that day.

Stewart girls on Mother's Day.

Daddy needed dome toys during a nap.

It's the "dancing bug game" at  Heather's house.

Cherri-o flavored milk... Mmm.
