one year and counting...

On Monday, September 22nd, we celebrated our first anniversary! It's crazy that it's all ready been that long, it seems like it was yesterday. The Saturday before it we went target shooting with our friends Jeff and Kelsey Beaty in the desert.
Yes, that is a pink gun, and yes, Ryan did shoot it. Aside from the grasshoppers that seemed to be consantly attacking us, we had a great time.

On our anniversary Ryan took the day off and we went up to Wood's Canyon Lake. It was pretty busy there, even for a Monday, and we weren't getting a bite, so we packed up and went just a bit further to Willow Springs Lake. We had much better luck there and only shared the lake with one other fisherman.
I caught the first keeper!

We kept 4 of the 8 or so we caught and had a delicious meal at home. It was beautiful up on the Rim! There were even some leaves starting to show signs of Autumn coming on. We hope that means it's coming to the valley soon too!

Mmm... good stuff!

We are also very excited to have a wooden table and chairs! Thanks to our friends Israel & Stephanie Ortega, who gave the set to us and helped us paint it. We had been eating off of a round glass patio table. Before we sat down to eat dinner on Sunday I decided it looked so good I just had to take a picture of it!

I wish we could go on a fun day trip like yours!! Plus, the table is way cute. Good job, refinishing is no fun at all.
