Timberrrr.......!!! and the rest of January

I didn't seem too camera happy in January. I think I was all fizzled out from December, plus I was in the midst of the fist trimester fatigue and nausea, which is thankfully passing. Here are a few good pictures and videos though.
Out came the chain saw and down went the trees! Yes, Evelyn and I watched from inside. No, Ryan had never done this before. And yes, there was no damage to any structures or people in the process. First he cut down a rather large Australian Bottle Tree in the back yard  because of the annoying and poky seed pods. I got that on video, but will have to post is separately. Apparently I'm out of practice with blogging or something.
Now he just needs to dig out the stumps and replant new ones... He has actually dug out one in the side yard to put in a BBQ pit, which is just about done. Pictures of that are coming...

It's a pretty big mess, but Ryan made it and cleaned it up in just a few days.

We had been wanting to cut down this Ash for a while and replace it with a cleaner tree,  as far as shedding goes. The fact that it was  sick and mostly dead anyway just sealed the deal.

A couple days later someone found a pile of sawdust, which of course belongs in hair.
In these pictures her face may seem a little red. That's because she had an ear infection and a really bad outbreak of hives from the Amoxicillin. These pictures are the tail end of a long week. She had a much less severe outbreak last March from the same medicine. The doctor wasn't so sure it was the culprit, but I was. She had it in October without any problems so I thought maybe she was immune to the allergy. She had taken it this time for 4 days before the first spots showed up. I stopped giving her the Amoxil. and took her back to the doctor so they could put it in her file and got some new meds for the ear infection. It was all ready worse than the first time at that point. It lasted over a week and covered her entire body. She had a few restless nights, even with Benadryl, and when the redness finally started to go away it left little bruises in the shape of rings because of how much swelling it caused. I wish I had a good picture of it just to remember. Thankfully it never interfered with her breathing and through it all I only saw her scratch a few times. I know it had to be painful, especially for diaper changes, but she was a trooper. No more Amoxicillin for this little lady.

We got a few bins for Evelyn's room. All of her stuffed toys fit great, and so does she!

"Playing" video games with cousins. Note that her controller also doubles as play telephone.
