march madness... and we're only half way through it!

We have been keeping quite busy lately.
Either that or I've just been taking a ton more pictures this month...

Stickers. What else needs to be said?

A friend in my ward gave us a potty chair, and everyday before bath time this little one puts something in it! Apparently it's also fun to read a book on after washing hands. We aren't doing any focused training...yet, but I am glad to have it as a part of her routine all ready.

Digging in the gravel. A favorite daily activity, though usually done in more shade.

What's March in Mesa without a visit to Lehi Days?

This was her very first pony ride and she loved every second!

Pit barbecued turkey anyone? This was for our ward's all- Scout banquet on the 3rd.

Ryan had been wanting to put in a barbecue pit in our yard almost since the day we moved in. After cutting down a tree in the side yard in January, he decided this was a great place for it and took the opportunity, after much digging, to put it in.

The last of the winter garden...

Smelling flowers always makes me happy too.

Evelyn has been an eager helper with watering, weed pulling and picking veggies since November.

Hopefully I'll get the summer garden going soon.

A boot in the mouth, yuck! This was hilarious to her.

Upside down!

After church on Sunday Mommy's shoes were very inviting.

Birthday brownie for cousin Kimble's day... mmm...

Gilbert, AZ Temple. A friend from our ward moved to Gilbert last year and had a play day at their house this morning. We were just a couple miles West so we stopped to have a peek.

Someone was ready for a nap and thankfully fell asleep in the car a few minutes later.

I told her to say " temple"  but she wanted to look at it instead.

Fantastic February Fun!

With February came sunshine, sunglasses and the beginning of the second trimester! And a much happier tummy, yea! There was also Valentines Day, which I somehow didn't get a single picture of, and a fabulous Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert, not to mention lunch with my wonderful cousin Angie who's in the choir. For Valentines Day we had a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphys, mmmmm, and Ryan rushed off to class. But I did get a box of really good chocolates and flowers, and Ryan got some heart shaped cupcakes and a balloon. Evelyn enjoyed the balloon. Happy 100th birthday to my fabulous home of Arizona! My family has been here a few years longer than that, and I wouldn't call any where else my home.

As Ryan says, "Movie star..."

Spent a couple hours at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix one Saturday. Love the thumbs-up Saguaro!

While cutting pinewood derby cars for his sister Heather, someone ran inside to get earplugs just like Daddy!

Maybe she'll be just as big of a help with her little brother or sister...

Loves to change diapers and put away the toilet paper... after she's carried it all over the house :)

Timberrrr.......!!! and the rest of January

I didn't seem too camera happy in January. I think I was all fizzled out from December, plus I was in the midst of the fist trimester fatigue and nausea, which is thankfully passing. Here are a few good pictures and videos though.
Out came the chain saw and down went the trees! Yes, Evelyn and I watched from inside. No, Ryan had never done this before. And yes, there was no damage to any structures or people in the process. First he cut down a rather large Australian Bottle Tree in the back yard  because of the annoying and poky seed pods. I got that on video, but will have to post is separately. Apparently I'm out of practice with blogging or something.
Now he just needs to dig out the stumps and replant new ones... He has actually dug out one in the side yard to put in a BBQ pit, which is just about done. Pictures of that are coming...

It's a pretty big mess, but Ryan made it and cleaned it up in just a few days.

We had been wanting to cut down this Ash for a while and replace it with a cleaner tree,  as far as shedding goes. The fact that it was  sick and mostly dead anyway just sealed the deal.

A couple days later someone found a pile of sawdust, which of course belongs in hair.
In these pictures her face may seem a little red. That's because she had an ear infection and a really bad outbreak of hives from the Amoxicillin. These pictures are the tail end of a long week. She had a much less severe outbreak last March from the same medicine. The doctor wasn't so sure it was the culprit, but I was. She had it in October without any problems so I thought maybe she was immune to the allergy. She had taken it this time for 4 days before the first spots showed up. I stopped giving her the Amoxil. and took her back to the doctor so they could put it in her file and got some new meds for the ear infection. It was all ready worse than the first time at that point. It lasted over a week and covered her entire body. She had a few restless nights, even with Benadryl, and when the redness finally started to go away it left little bruises in the shape of rings because of how much swelling it caused. I wish I had a good picture of it just to remember. Thankfully it never interfered with her breathing and through it all I only saw her scratch a few times. I know it had to be painful, especially for diaper changes, but she was a trooper. No more Amoxicillin for this little lady.

We got a few bins for Evelyn's room. All of her stuffed toys fit great, and so does she!

"Playing" video games with cousins. Note that her controller also doubles as play telephone.

Announcement! ... and part 2 of Chiristmas... 2 months after

As most of you know by now, we are expecting again! September 3rd is the official due date, but if this little one follows Evelyn's lead we'll have an August addition to the family. Here are the rest of our December pictures. Hopefully I'll post some pics from Jan. and Feb. next week!
Riding the merry-go-round at Bass Pro. At first she wasn't so sure, but loved it!

I can't get some of the pictures to turn the right way, so I apologize. They are the right direction on my computer... oh well. Hope you enjoy them anyway. We sure had a lot of fun taking them through out the season!
